ADDITIONAL EYE SCREENING Students in grades 1-3-5-7-9-11 and newly enrolled students were screened for vision and hearing during the week of Sept. 29. The results will be filed with the student's permanent record. If additional testing is needed, the parents will be notified. If you are not notified, the results were normal.
Additional eye screenings for EVERY STUDENT will be offered through Bellaire Family Clinic on Tuesday, October 21 by Dr. Moore. She will be screening students for individual vision, eye alignment, and perception. The fee will be $20 per student. Dr. Moore will hold a general assembly at 6p.m. for parents and will be available for individual consult afterward. If parents have any questions or concerns they may either contact Dr. Moore in person at 713-664-8087 or they may go to her clinic's website at www.bfeye.com.

October 27 . . . Academic Awards Students will be recognized for A-Honor Roll, A-B Honor Roll, and Perfect Attendance during the 1st Nine Week grading period at FA. November 10 . . . Veterans' Day PHOTOS of soldiers in uniform wanted for a perpetual photo frame that will be displayed in the FA lobby. Please submit photo, branch of service, war service, and the soldier's relationship to FA (ex: Matthew's grandfather) to the office as soon as possible. The Chapel Service will feature the FA students performing patriotic music and recitations. In addition, several high school students enrolled in the FA Honors Program will present speeches written for the local Voice of Democracy Scholarship contest. Mark your calendar and join us in honoring our veterans! December 15 . . . Christmas Celebration Junior High students will present a special Christmas message for the entire school, parents, grandparents and other guests.

WANTED: Faith Academy has the opportunity to participate in the Bellville Chamber of Commerce Christmas celebration by decorating a Christmas tree in the Bellville Mini-Park. A VOLUNTEER PARENT IS NEEDED TO HEAD UP THIS PROJECT which requires the tree to be decorated by Saturday, Nov. 29. For further details, contact Wendy Barnes at 865-1811 as soon as possible.

TARGET CARDS EARN MONEY FOR FA! Target recently presented Faith Academy with a payout check as a direct result of the parents, teachers, and school supporters who participate in the store's Take Charge of Education Payout Program. Sign up for the program and designate Faith Academy as your "target" school and Target will donate 1% of every purchase made by that person using a REDcard (Target Visa credit card, Target credit card, or Target check card).
Go to Target.com/apply to get a REDcard. If you already have one, go to Target.com/tcoe or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate Faith Academy as your "target" school.
Take Charge of Education dollars are donated to schools twice a year. It is part of Target's broad commitment to education and is designed to enhance educational efforts for children in communities across the country.
Faith Academy has a recycling bin in the parking lot! Items that are accepted include the following: NEWSPAPER, WRAPPING PAPER, COPY PAPER, CATALOGS, SHREDDED PAPER, CATALOGS and MAGAZINES. Cardboard is NOT accepted. The school receives a fee for all collected materials. Bring your items today!!!!!!
Faith Academy parents are asked to attend ONE PARENT CLASS each semester. Classes are planned for an evening and a morning during September, October, and November during the 1st Semester; and during January, February, March, and April during the 2nd Semester. These sessions are typically planned for the last Monday evening and last Tuesday morning of those months.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION LABELS FOR EDUCATION INK JET CARTRIDGES Please collect Box Tops for Education, Campbell's Soup labels, and empty ink jet cartridges for Faith Academy. These items, which might be trash to you, can be result in $$ for our school! Students can earn FREE ICE CREAM by filling up collection sheets. Complete 5 sheets... any combination of Box Tops for Education and/or Labels for Education (1 point and 5 point) and bring them to the office. Ice cream certificates will be issued by Wendy Barnes.

Faith Academy’s first bell of the day rings at 7:50 a.m. Students should be seated in their classrooms, ready to start the day when the second bell rings at 8:00 a.m. For your child’s safety, exterior doors are locked when the 8:00 a.m. bell rings. If you are arriving in the parking lot at 8:00 a.m. or after, you must check in at the main office. A tardy slip and tally will be issued, and then a teacher will be contacted to let the student into the building.
TUITION DUE … on the 1st of each month. Late fees of $10 per day will be charged beginning on the 6th of each month. Unpaid late fees will be invoiced.
The following information was included on your signed Family Information / Permission form. Please remember… Faith Academy of Bellville keeps only Basic First Aid supplies in the school office and classrooms. The stocked supplies include, but may not be limited to antibiotic ointment, anti-bacterial wipes, isopropyl alcohol on swabs, hydrogen peroxide, Band Aids, first aid tape, gauze pads and wraps, cotton balls, Q-Tips and cold packs. If a student needs to be given any prescription or over the counter medications, the item must be presented in an original container and must be accompanied by signed and written instructions from the parent or guardian. The medications and signed instructions should be left with school office personnel. Self medication is strictly prohibited.Forms are available in the office.Medications for High School students will be kept in and administered by office personnel.Medications for all other students will be kept with and administered by their homeroom teacher.
YEARBOOKS Last year’s 2007-08 yearbook is still available for purchase! Stop by the office to purchase yours for $30. AND… the yearbook staff is always on the lookout for digital photos of school events. Contact Robin Pean to find out how to share yours!
EXTENDED CARE 979-472-0055 … is the number to call between 3:30 & 6:00 p.m. Send Snacks! Pick up no later than 6 p.m. Tallies will be given to students in Kindergarten – 5th grade students if necessary. If someone other than those listed on your Family Information / Permission sheet will be picking up your child, make sure to notify the office before 3 p.m. and remind them to show their driver’s license.

KNIGHT STORAGE AVAILABLE In case you didn't know... Faith Academy has storage units available at the rear of the secondary building. Some of the units are currently empty and can be rented to store your extra items! Call 865-1811 to find out our reasonable rates.
MEMORIALS ACCEPTED Faith Academy, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, accepts memorial contributions in honor of loved ones. These contributions can be made to the school in general or to a specific department such as the library. A card will be sent to the family of the honoree. If you have questions, please call 865-1811.
